Constraints
Although there are some great affordances of the iPad that make it a great tool for learning, it is also important to recognize the constraints of the iPad. Some of these include
- No multiple user accounts- iPads were designed to be personal devices and at this time can’t be tailored to customize apps and experiences between users.
- No split screen multi-tasking- Can not open apps and files side by side for viewing and referencing
- Limited Storage and Workflow- The loop of interaction between students and teachers that include distributing assignments, retrieving student work, giving feedback, viewing revised work, and saving can be challenging in an iPad environment without additional tools.
