Congratulations! You have just taken the first step to becoming a better educator. Teachers are lifelong learners who make a commitment to professional development during the course of their career. In addition to the diverse needs of today's learners, it is evident that technology is moving at a fast pace. In order to engage our learners and provide for opportunities where they can collaborate, be inquisitive, question, think critically and learn, teachers need to be integrating technology into their practice. What better tool than an iPad? Click the get started now button to learn how tablets like iPads will replace computers in elementary schools. Focus on the number one reason. This is the sole reason why we propose iPads as a dynamic technology.
PURPOSE
We have created the “iPads as a Dynamic Technology” tutorial for educators teaching at a K-5 grade level. Although some of our sections are specific to these grades (i.e. resources), most of our tutorial is quite informative and can be used by all educators teaching various grades. Our tutorial goes through the background and history of iPads, features and how to get started, affordances, and excellent resources for the math and science classroom. Our site is suited for educators with various iPad experience as it provides different entry points for all levels. Lastly, we have made this tutorial as user-friendly and interactive as possible, hoping for our users to have successful experiences using the iPad in their classrooms.
